This new permanent Director role leads on the design and delivery of Lambeth’s innovative and wide-ranging strategy to address serious youth violence in the borough. This is a top priority for the Council and residents. Much is being done but we know there is more work to do to address the wider determinants of violence and deliver our public health approach. Working with Lambeth’s diverse and resourceful communities is integral to all we are doing.

The director of children’s commissioning and community safety is a joint post with the CCG and includes a broad portfolio that includes commissioning of local authority and health children’s services, youth offending, community safety and children’s improvement. Working as part of the children’s services leadership team, with the NHS, Police and community organisations, this role has great scope for leadership and influence.

Based in Brixton, this exciting yet challenging role will require creativity, ambition and determination to make a tangible difference to the lives of children, families and communities.
